Here at the Home we are all safe and sound. We are social distancing, doing a lot of hand washing, disinfecting, wearing masks, and following the guidelines from the Center for Disease Control. We are keeping our spirits up despite the pandemic and dearth of visitors.
We have been blessed with a beautiful garden this spring, with the perfect mix of rain and sun bringing forth a splendor of daffodils and colorful tulips. Our resident gardener, DJ, is keeping the fish fed in the warmer weather, weeding here and there, and watering.
The Town & Country Garden Club, an institution at the Home since 1958, will not be on site this year. Club Members will guide us from afar, but our plan is to keep their plan going as best we can.
We would like to send out a heartfelt thanks to our high school volunteers from Stone Ridge School and Georgetown Prep. The young volunteers assisted us when we needed it the most in preparing for the pandemic. Their enthusiasm, knowledge, and muscle in getting supplies stowed away was invaluable.
We are happy to report our pest spray man is considered essential—and our trash service continues unabated. At this time, we all know the small things can be the great things.
We hope you are safe and well through this difficult time for our country and world.
